Maroons Rebound with Win Over Greenwood

Coming off their first loss of the season over the weekend to DeSales, the Madisonville-North Hopkins Maroons got back on the winning track Tuesday evening. The Maroons scored the first three goals of the match on their way to a 5-3 homefield win over the Greenwood Gators.

The Maroons got things rolling on a goal from Eli Redpath to take a 1-0 lead. Nelson Menjivar was credited with the assist on the score.

Madisonville-North Hopkins got on the board again in the first half. This time it was a goal from Kyle Yates off an assist from Dru Lyle to give the Maroons a 2-0 lead that they would carry into the break.

As the second half got underway, the Maroons extended the lead to 3-0 when Eli Redpath found the net off an assist from Dom Blanford.

The Gators scored back-to-back goals to get back into the match at 3-2. However, the Maroons responded with the second goal of the night from Eli Redpath. This one came off an assist from Aiden Lutz.

A short time later, Redpath completed his hat trick, thanks to an assist from Nelson Menjivar, as the Maroons pushed the lead on out to 5-2.

Greenwood would add a late goal to get to the final two goal margin.

The Maroons now stand at 6-1 on the season. They are scheduled to be on the road Thursday evening taking on Central Hardin.
