Mary Martinez began her final cross country season at Crittenden County in fine fashion with a second-place finish at Saturday’s Christian County Season Opener in Hopkinsville.
The Lady Rocket senior finished in second place with a time of 22:46 over the rolling 3.1-mile course on the campus of both Christian County High School and Hopkinsville Community College.
She missed her personal best time set last year by 20 seconds.
Ella Whitney finished in 17th place at 27:10 and Presley Potter was 19th at 27:39.
The Lady Rockets did not field the five runners needed to turn in a team score.
