Rebecca Wood scored the game-winner on a free kick in the final four minutes of the contest as the Hopkinsville Lady Tigers rallied with a pair of second half goals to take a 4-3 road district win at Fort Campbell Tuesday evening. The win came in the district opener for the Lady Tigers.
Fort Campbell gave the Lady Tigers all they wanted, taking a 3-2 lead at the half.
Hopkinsville got big efforts again from Kaylyn Lynch and Kaydon Coats. Lynch had two goals, giving her 10 for the season. Coats also scored her 10th goal of the year for the Lady Tigers.
Hopkinsville also got a solid effort from Jaleigha McFarland in goal. McFarland finished with 9 saves, including several at key moments during the match.
Anna Allen scored all three goals for Fort Campbell. She now has 11 for the season.
The Lady Tigers end a two-match losing skid with the win and improve to 4-3 on the year. They are back in action Saturday morning in a big district battle at University Heights.
Fort Campbell drops to 2-2 and gets back on the pitch Thursday when they host Todd County Central.
