Christian County Lady Colonels soccer picked up its first win of the 2024 season Thursday night in Dixon, moving to 1-6-1 by topping Webster County 2-0.
Tied 0-0 at the break, freshman wing Emerson Boyd snagged her second goal of the campaign to make it 1-0, before junior Jayda Turner’s first career goal added the needed insurance.
Sophomore goalie NeZiyah Bell is credited with the clean sheet, her second of the year, and just five days after blanking Union County 0-0 at Stadium of Champions in Hopkinsville.
Webster County last topped Christian County October 10, 2009. Since then, the Lady Colonels have claimed eight straight.
NEXT UP: The Lady Colonels face Trigg County (3-3-1) next Tuesday at the Trigg County Recreation Complex in Cadiz. The Lady Wildcats won last year 10-0, but lost previous matchups in 2018, 2019 and 2021.
