
The Fort Campbell volleyball team earned its first win of the season on Thursday in straight sets over Hopkinsville, dropping the Lady Tigers to their second straight defeat.
The Lady Falcons took the opener 25-20 before taking a 2-0 lead with an eight-point win in the second set. Hopkinsville battled in the third but fell 25-22 to finish the match.
After losing 13 straight matches in the series from 2015 to 2022, the Lady Falcons have now won three of the last five over the Lady Tigers, including a 3-0 victory in the first round of last season’s district tournament.
Madysen Taggart led the way for the Lady Tigers with five kills, four blocks, and two digs. Kyleigh Weber finished with four digs, Lainey Stewart added four assists, a kill, and a dig, and Saralynn Major had a kill and two digs.
Fort Campbell will be back in action on Tuesday with a visit from Caldwell County.
Hopkinsville will travel to Christian County in search of its first district win of the season.
