
Hopkinsville’s girls never trailed while giving head coach Jeff Addison his 250th career coaching victory on Tuesday.
Kaydon Coats had two goals as Hoptown defeated Caldwell County 4-1 at the Stadium of Champions.
Coats had an early goal off an assist from Azaa Enkhtugs to stake Hoptown to a 1-0 lead.
Enkhtugs then scored from the top of the box in the 20th minute to put the home team up 2-0.
Caldwell (3-2) tried to steal the momentum just a minute later when Nunie Bates scored with help from Lexie Sullivan.
But that would prove to be the visitors’ only score of the night.
Hopkinsville (5-4) gained some breathing room in the 46th minute on a steal and shot from Kaylyn Lynch to make it 3-1.
Coats put the finishing touches on the victory with a goal in the 76th minute, taking a pass from Lynch in front and scoring to put Hoptown up 4-1.
Jaleigha McFarland made 10 stops in the Hopkinsville net.
The win also pushed Hoptown back in front in the all-time series with Caldwell, 23-22-1.
Hopkinsville will next host Henderson County on Thursday.
Caldwell’s girls will go to Madisonville-North Hopkins on Thursday.
