After a tough start to the volleyball season, the Todd County Central Lady Rebels appear to be finding their stride. The Lady Rebels stayed unbeaten in 13th District play Tuesday night with a straight-set road win at Russellville.
The win over the Lady Panthers puts the Lady Rebels at 2-0 in district play. They previously took a straight-set win over Franklin Simpson.
Tuesday night, the Lady Rebels came out firing and never gave the Lady Panthers a chance to get in the match.
Todd County Central took the opening set 25-9 to go up one set to none. Not much changed in the second set as the Lady Rebels rolled 25-8 and took a 2-0 set lead.
The Lady Rebels wasted no time in closing out the match, rolling through the third set 25-5.
Callista Chapman led the way for Todd County Central with 6 kills and 5 service aces. Aubri Penick ended up with 5 kills and four aces. Allyssa Wofford also had five kills. She added two aces.
Emily Thomas was exceptional in the serve game, ending the match with 11 service aces.
Shelby Holderman had another big night setting the table for her teammates ending the match with 17 assists.
With the district sweep, Todd County Central now stands at 4-5 for the season. The Lady Rebels will be back in action next Tuesday on the road at Logan County.
