For a good part of the first half, it looked as if the Lyon County Lyons might have a shot at picking up their first win of the season. But then Paducah Tilghman got going and once the Blue Tornado got going things unraveled quickly for the Lyons.
After a scoreless first 20 minutes, Paducah Tilghman started scoring. The Blue Tornado scored 7 goals in the rest of the half with one of those being an own goal off an attempted save by K’Veon Cain for Lyon County.
Tilghman was then able to finish off the match early in the second half with the first goal they scored in the final 40 minutes ending the match due to the 8-goal mercy rule.
Lyon County goalie Will Dunning ended the night with 20 saves.
The loss drops the Lyons to 0-6. It was the fourth time that Lyon County has been shut out this season.
The Lyons are set to host Heritage Christian Academy Thursday evening at Lee S. Jones Park.
