Whitesville Trinity has been one of the 3rd Region’s top volleyball programs for several seasons. The Lady Raiders gave example of that Tuesday evening at Lyle Dunbar Gym.
Trinity came to Christian County and upended the Lady Colonels, who were coming off their best match of the season in a win over Heritage Christian, in straight sets.
The Lady Colonels stood toe-to-toe with the Lady Raiders in the opening set before falling 25-23.
The second set was another battle, with Whitesville Trinity ultimately prevailing 25-20 to go up two sets to none.
The third set was all Lady Raiders as Trinity closed out the straight-set win with a 25-11 win.
Skylar Kirby led the Christian County effort with 12 kills, 1 assist, 2, aces, and 9 digs.
Ashlea Russell had another big night setting the table with 12 assists. She also had 10 digs. Shiloh Baker added 9 digs and two assists for the Lady Colonels.
Christian County drops to 2-5 with the loss. The Lady Colonels now get ready for a big 8th District match Thursday evening when they host the Hopkinsville Lady Tigers.
