On Thursday, the Fort Campbell boys’ soccer team bounced back from a pair of shutout losses with its biggest offensive output of the season in a 7-2 victory over hosts Trigg County.

The Falcons had scored nine goals coming into the contest and had been outscored 5-0 over their last two matches before finding the scoring touch.  Fort Campbell improved to 2-3 ahead of a visit from Fort Knox on Saturday.  The Falcons have won the last five in the series with the Eagles, who sit at 0-7 with only one goal scored so far this season.

Aiden Freck and Chase Cribbett led the way with two goals each, and Ryan Brewer and Mateo Cerritos Gatto scored and assisted.  Dylan McDonald had a big night in midfield with a goal and four assists, and Micah Castillo set up a goal.  John Arnold made five saves for the Falcons.

Trigg County’s Slaton Carter and Lance Breckel provided the goals with assists from Nate Kelly, and Cam McCormick made 9 saves.

The Wildcats suffered their sixth straight loss to start the season and will look to get in the win column when they host Logan County on Saturday.  They had won all four previous matches against the Cougars until last year’s 3-0 road defeat.
