
University Heights Academy finished in 13th place at the All A Classic State Golf Tournament on Saturday in Richmond.
Cal Givens led the UHA golfers with a 23rd-place finish.
A consistent wind between 10-15 mph, combined with the narrow fairways at Gibson Bay Golf Course, presented a challenging day for Givens and the Blazers.
The sophomore shot a 40 on each side of the course and came in with an 8-over 80 with a scorecard that included 11 pars.
Bryson Turner shot an 86 to finish tied for 53rd place. He had seven pars on his card and totaled a 5-over par on the front nine.
Courtland Gibson tied for 60th place with a score of 88. His card included a birdie on the par-4 eighth hole.
Hugh Sisk finished in 93rd place with a round of 94. He shot identical 47s on each side of the course.
As a team, UHA finished in 13th place, one shot behind 12th place Owensboro Catholic, and four shots behind Hazard and Jackson County.
Cam Roberts of Pikeville was the lone golfer to put a red number on the scoreboard. He shot two-under on the back nine and finished with a 3-under par 69. He defeated Sy McDaniel of Lexington Christian by three shots.
St. Henry won the team title by eight shots over Lexington Christian and by 11 shots over Bethlehem.
