
The University Heights Academy Blazers kept their unbeaten record in district play intact Saturday. In perfect weather conditions, the Blazers traveled across town and picked up a 9-0 district win over Heritage Christian Academy. The match ended at the half due to the 8-goal rule.
UHA effectively settled this one in the first five minutes of the match. Logan Miller found the net twice in less than four minutes to start the match as the Blazers jumped out to a 2-0 lead.
Jayden Williamson scored off an assist from Clayton Lester at 6:40, extending the lead to 3-0. Lester scored off an assist from Logan Miller six minutes later making it 4-0.
The UHA lead went to 5-0 when a corner kick for the Blazers deflected off a Warrior into the net at 18:00.
Eli Finch, who normally spends most of his time in goal for the Blazers, rebounded his own penalty kick attempt and put it in the goal at 32:00, pushing the lead out to 6-0. Harlow Hampton scored his second goal of the season at 34:10 for a 7-0 lead.
Teerth Shah scored his first varsity goal of the season at 35:30 giving the Blazers an 8-0 lead.
Cadence Gibson scored a late goal to finish out the scoring for University Heights.
UHA (6-3) goes on the road Monday to take on Mayfield in the sectional round of the All A Classic.
Heritage Christian (1-6-1) will host Christian County in an 8th District contest Tuesday.
