Trigg County got a balanced scoring attack and moved one game closer to the district’s number one seed with a 9-1 mercy rule win over Crittenden County on Thursday at the Complex.
Hallie Joiner notched a hat trick, and Addison Humphries and Leiah Hite each scored twice as the Lady Wildcats improved to 3-0 in the district with their 20th straight win over the Lady Rockets dating back to 2016.
Humphries and Landie Hite scored for Trigg in the first six minutes and the rout was on. Leiah Hite scored two goals and Joiner added her first for a 5-0 lead with 12:20 left.
Crittenden County got on the board 25 seconds later when sophomore Kylie Bloodworth scored her sixth goal of the season off an assist from Adri Berry.
Humphries and Joiner would each score in the final six minutes of the half for a 7-1 lead at the break.
Joiner completed the hat trick off Maggie Wolfe’s second assist of the game in the 49th minute, and Callie Boggess ended the match with a goal in the 57th minute.
For Leiah Hite, she has 25 goals and 17 assists to lead the Lady Wildcats. Joiner has 13 goals and eight assists, while Wolfe is second on the team with 10 assists.
Lilli Richardson had three assists on Thursday, while Julie Dalen added a helper.
Trigg County outshot Crittenden County 22-2.
Trigg County is 9-4 with its third straight win and 3-0 in the district. A win at Lyon County next Thursday would clinch the district’s number one seed and give them an automatic berth into the district championship match and region tournament berth.
Trigg County will travel to Webster County on Monday.
Crittenden County (2-8, 0-4) will be the number three seed in the district tourney.
