Madisonville-North Hopkins entered four runners in the Mustang Stampede at Muhlenberg County on Saturday, with Coley Mitchell’s 56th-place finish leading the way for the Maroons.
Mitchell was Madisonville’s lone female runner in a race won by Ohio County’s Morgan Kobylinski with a time of 18:57.70. Mitchell crossed the line in 25:37.02 to finish in the top of half of the field of 132 runners.
On the boys’ side, Jude Gamblin finished 100th with a time of 21:18.75, followed for the Maroons by Braiden Gamblin’s 24:37.15, and Jon McCay’s 35:28.40.
Apollo’s Emmitt Brock won the race with a blistering 16:18.29.
