The Christian County Colonels forced Henderson County to go the distance in their soccer match Tuesday evening for just the second time in the past eight years but that was not quite enough to pick up the win. Henderson County took a 3-0 halftime lead and then scored twice more in the second half as the northern Colonels took the 5-0 win.
While it did go the distance, the match marked the 8th consecutive shutout for Henderson County in the series.
The Henderson County defense was the big story in the match as the Colonels from the north did not allow Christian County a shot on goal for the night.
Mason Malone ended up with 13 saves for Christian County.
Christian County (8-4-0) now gets ready for a big 8th District match against the Hopkinsville Tigers Thursday evening.
