It’s pretty hard to win a soccer match when you don’t get off any shots on goal. The Hopkinsville Lady Tigers held the Christian County Lady Colonels without a shot Tuesday night and got a hat trick from Kaylyn Lynch on the offensive end on their way to a 5-0 8th District win at the Stadium of Champions.

The win was the second straight shutout for the Lady Tigers, who went to Calhoun Monday night and blanked McLean County 9-0.

Lynch got the Lady Tigers on the board at the 28:00 mark when she took a pass right in front of the Christian County goalie and put it into the net, giving Hopkinsville a 1-0 lead. Less than two minutes later, Rebecca Wood drilled a shot that extended the lead to 2-0.

Kaylyn Lynch scored her second goal of the night inside the final minute of the half to push the lead out to 3-0 at the break.

Kaydon Coats took a corner kick and put it into the net at the 51:15 mark to make the Hopkinsville lead 4-0.

Kaylyn Lynch completed her hat trick at the 78:00 to finish out the scoring for the match.

Hopkinsville (8-6-1) gets back to action Thursday evening hosting Muhlenberg County at the Stadium of Champions.

Christian County (1-11-1) goes across North Drive Thursday evening to take on University Heights.
