For two-and-a-half sets, Caldwell County appeared on its way to an easy 7th District volleyball victory on Thursday.

The Lady Tigers took the first two sets 25-15 and 25-12 and held the lead as they looked to finish up a straight-set triumph.

However, Hopkins County Central flipped the momentum late in the third set, rallying for a 29-27 win to extend the match.

The Lady Storm then seemed to hold the upper hand in the fourth set. But with everything looking like the match might be headed to a decisive fifth set, it was Caldwell that rallied.

Caldwell improved to 9-6 overall and 3-1 in the district. The Lady Tigers are on solid footing for the No. 1 seed for the 7th District tournament, which includes an automatic berth in the championship match along with a bid into the 2nd Region tournament field.
