A busy weekend of action capped off with a Silver Bracket championship for the Todd County Central Lady Rebels volleyball team. The Lady Rebels were among the teams in Paducah to take part in the annual Quad State tournament.
The Lady Rebels began the weekend Friday evening with a straight-set win over Hopkins County Central 25-14 and 25-18.
Later Friday evening, Todd County Central faced off against Dyer County. The Lady Rebels struggled early, dropping the first set 25-7. The Lady Rebels had a much better second set but ended up falling 27-26 and losing the match two sets to none.
The Lady Rebels got back to action Saturday morning. Todd County Central put up a battle against Graves County but fell in straight sets 25-20 and 26-24. That was followed by a straight-set loss to West Jessamine 25-12 and 25-14.
The results of the first four matches placed the Lady Rebels in the Silver Bracket for the bracket portion of the tournament.
In bracket play, Todd County Central picked up a straight-set win over Dyersburg to advance to the Silver Bracket championship match. The Lady Rebels then knocked off Christian County for the second time in nine days, this time in two straight sets, as they took the bracket championship.
The Lady Rebels (11-10) are set to be back in action Tuesday evening when they host the Russellville Lady Panthers.
