Former Tigers Returning Home for 2024 Hoops Classic

A pair of former Caldwell County standouts will return home with their current teams for the 2024 West Kentucky Hoops Classic.

The annual event is set for Dec. 27-28 at the CAB gym in Princeton and will feature 14 games over two days.

D.G. Sherrill’s Bowling Green squad will play two games in the event while Matt Fraliex’s Crittenden County team will play once on the second day.

Event organizer Torey Hammett says pairings have been finalized for the Hoops Classic, which is a fund-raiser for Caldwell County High School Athletics….

Sherrill’s Bowling Green team will be featured in the main event each night at 8 p.m., taking on East Coweta, Ga., in the final game the first day, then finishing the Hoops Classic against Little Rock Christian Academy from Arkansas on the second day.

Hammett says the Bowling Green Purples will bring one of the state’s top teams to Princeton…

Meanwhile, Fraliex and the Crittenden County Rockets will face South Panola, Miss., at 12:30 p.m. on Dec. 28…

Caldwell County’s basketball teams will each play twice in the event. The Tigers will play Heritage Christian Academy from Hopkinsville and Shades Valley from Alabama. The Lady Tigers will take on South Panola, Miss., and Mayfield.

The event will also include a team breakfast on the morning of Dec. 28…
