NARP Report 3: Wildcats Greater Than Bobcats

My fellow NARPS(Non-Athletic Regular People), it’s time to celebrate … UK defeated the Ohio State Bobcats in a merciless 41-6 final.

In the blisteringly hot Kroger Field, our Cats were on FIRE!

The offense FOUND THE END ZONE, and man, once we got down there, there was no stopping us. After a game of exclusively field goals last week, I know we had all been waiting for this.

Our QB seems to be getting his bearings on the big stage and for that we thank him. I would be remiss if I did not mention one of the “KEY” plays of the afternoon, when Dane Key iconically hurdled over a defender, nearly sailing to another 6 points but, nonetheless, setting us up for a touchdown soon after (if you haven’t seen a picture of this moment look it up)!

The defense stayed true to last week’s performance, not letting the Bobcats put many on the board, which is what we like to see.

We need to get a handle on these delay-of-game calls — there is no reason to get stuck with a 5-yard penalty for no good reason. Not that I play football, but this feels like something we can fix quickly!

Another hard test awaits next Saturday as we reenter SEC play at Ole Miss. If we can hit the end zone and hold onto this consistent defense, UK sets itself up for another impressive game.

I mean, we ought to win; what kind of mascot is a Landshark anyway?
