It was a busy weekend with some top-flight competition for the University Heights Academy Lady Blazers volleyball team. The Lady Blazers were in Paducah for the annual Quad State tournament.
Action began Friday night with pool play for UHA. The Lady Blazers opened with a two-set win over Ohio County 27-25 and 25-18. They finished the evening dropping a tough three-set match to John Hardin. The Lady Blazers won the opening set 25-15, but then dropped the next two 25-19 and 15-8.
The Lady Blazers fell to West Jessamine Saturday morning in a crossover match 25-13 and 25-8.
With the results of their pool play, the Lady Blazers were in the gold bracket and faced some stern competition.
UHA dropped their opening bracket match to McCracken County 25-8 and 25-8.
Up next was a match against 3rd Region contender Whitesville Trinity. The Lady Raiders got the win 25-19 and 25-16.
The Lady Blazers finished their weekend in Paducah with a match against 4th Region power Bowling Green. The Lady Purples took the straight-set win 25-8 and 25-12.
The Lady Blazers kick off a busy week at home Monday night as they host Hopkinsville in an 8th District contest.
