
While the fire alarm in the school went off late in the JV match Tuesday evening, turned out it was the Heritage Christian Academy Lady Warriors varsity volleyball team that was on fire. The Lady Warriors started hot and finished that way as they quickly rolled to a straight-set win over the Fort Campbell Lady Falcons in an 8th District volleyball contest.
The Lady Warriors never let the Lady Falcons threaten in this one as they rolled to their 12th win of the season and improved to 5-1 in 8th District play.
Heritage took the opening set 25-8. Not much was different in the second set as the Lady Warriors won 25-9 to go up two sets to none.
HCA closed out the sweep by taking the third set 25-11.
Katie Cansler led the Lady Warrior attack finishing with 10 kills. Mya Goodwin added seven.
Makenzie McCarty had a big night for Heritage Christian, finishing with 14 assists and 3 of the Lady Warriors’ seven service aces.
For the Lady Falcons, D’Lyla Melton ended up with three kills. Emily Ramsey had one kill and three assists. Olivia Voelkel added 15 digs.
Heritage Christian (12-4) gets back to the court on Thursday evening when the Lady Warriors host Christian County, looking to avenge their only district loss of the season.
Fort Campbell drops to 5-6 on the season. The Lady Falcons head off to West Creek Thursday night.
