Ritchey’s 4 Goals Power Caldwell’s Girls Past Muhlenberg

The Caldwell County Lady Tiger soccer team picked up a big win Monday night at Butler Stadium, routing Muhlenberg County 8-1.

Harper Ritchey had four goals as the Lady Tigers dominated the match, outshooting the Lady Mustangs 36-3.

Aliya Towns scored twice for Caldwell’s girls, who are now 6-6 on the season.

Caldwell also got goals from Brooklyn Hillyard and Addie Middleton.

The Lady Tigers led 3-1 at halftime before scoring five unanswered goals in the final 40 minutes.

Ritchey’s first two goals came in the 14th and 24th minutes — the second on a corner kick by Nunie Bates.

Hillyard’s tally in the 29th minute put Caldwell up 3-0.

The visiting Lady Mustangs (6-9) broke up the shutout in the 32nd minute when Alana Oates ran onto a pass from Addison Oates and scored to make it 3-1 at the break.

But it was all Caldwell in the second half.

Addie Middleton scored in the 45th minute, followed by a goal by Towns.

Ritchey’s third goal came on a long kick with the keeper out of the net.

Ritchey buried a penalty kick in the 64th minute for her fourth goal of the night.

Towns added another goal late to extend the margin to 8-1.

Towns also had two assists in the contest while Bates added two helpers as well. Middleton also had an assist.

Abbey Gill had two saves in the Lady Tiger net.

Caldwell is now 2-0 all-time against Muhlenberg County.

The Lady Tigers will next play Thursday night when they host Paducah St. Mzry as part of a senior night doubleheader at Butler Stadium.
