Trigg County’s only golfer in the Girls’ Region 1 Golf Tournament on Tuesday will advance to the next round.
Emma Dowell shot an 87 in action at Drake Creek Golf Club in Ledbetter.
Dowell carded a 43 on the front side of the course and a 44 on the back.
That was good enough to earn her a spot in the State First Round event next Tuesday at Hopkinsville Golf and Country Club.
The top two teams in the regional automatically qualify for the next round of postseason play, as do the next 10 individual score.
Ballard Memorial’s Madison Glisson claimed the individual championship with a 3-over-par 75. That included a 34 on the front nine.
Glisson’s score was two shots better than runner-up Cecelia Ray of Marshall County.
Dowell’s score tied for 14th individually.
The Lady Marshals claimed the team championship with a 317. McCracken County was runner-up at 352.
