Lady Wildcats Complete Sweep of Webster County

The Trigg County Lady Wildcats completed the season sweep of Webster County and improved to 18-2 all-time against the Lady Trojans with an 8-0 win on Tuesday in Cadiz.

Trigg County (12-5-1) has won six of seven matches heading into Monday’s contest with Hopkinsville.

Leiah Hite notched a natural hat trick in the first half to move Trigg’s lead from 1-0 to 4-0.

Maggie Wolfe got Trigg County on the board with a goal from 30 feet out three minutes into the match.

Hite’s three goals came in a five-minute stretch.

Landie Hite knocked home a long shot from the right side to put the Lady Wildcats up 5-0 in the 18th minute.

Hallie Joiner celebrated her senior night with a pair of goals and an assist.

Charlstyn Heath ended the match when the Lady Wildcat senior scored her first career goal in the 56th minute to trigger the mercy rule.

Trigg County outshot Webster County 30-2, with Webster freshman Gracie Pruitt making 12 saves in goal, including a couple at point-blank range. Addison Humphries added a pair of assists for the Lady Wildcats.

Webster County (2-9-1) will play at Union County on Thursday.
