Lady Rebels Play ‘Lights Out’ Volleyball at Metcalfe

The Todd County Central Lady Rebels were ‘lights out’ Saturday as they went on the road for the Metcalfe County ‘Fest at the Nest.’ The Lady Rebels ended up as runners-up in the Gold Bracket in the event which was stopped after the Edmonton community lost power Saturday.

The Lady Rebels began their trip with a straight-set win over Somerset. Todd County Central 25-23 and 25-16 over the Briar Jumpers.

Up next for the Lady Rebels was a match against the host Lady Hornets. Metcalfe County took the opening set 25-21 with Todd County Central bouncing back to win the second set 25-16. The Lady Rebels then outlasted the Lady Hornets in the deciding third set 18-16 to close out the match.

North Hardin handed Todd County Central its only loss of the day in the next match. The Trojans took the straight-set win 25-14 and 25-20.

As bracket play began, the Lady Rebels were matched up against their district rival Franklin-Simpson. This one was all Todd County Central as the Lady Rebels got the win in straight-sets 25-18 and 25-17.

At that point, out went the lights and the event was stopped.

Allyssa Wofford, Shelby Holderman, and Callie Chapman were named to the All-Tournament Team.

With the results from the weekend, the Lady Rebels are now 15-11 on the season. They get set to lost Logan County on Tuesday night.
