Caldwell County senior Collin Whittington used “boring golf” to shoot a 75 at Wednesday’s Region 1 Golf Tournament at Calvert City Country Club.
The 3-over-par total not only earned him a tie for seventh-place in the regional, but earned him a spot in the State First Round tournament at Hopkinsville Golf and Country Club.
The State First Round was originally set for Monday, but has been moved to Wednesday so that players will have an opportunity for a practice round on Monday.
