With their first preseason scrimmage just over seven weeks away, the 2024-2025 basketballs schedule is in place for the University Heights Academy Blazers. The Blazers, who are considered one of the 2nd Region contenders, will officially open the season Tuesday, December 2nd when they host the Madisonville-North Hopkins Maroons in Blazer Gym.
UHA finished the 2023-2024 season at 24-7, winning the 8th District championship before falling to Henderson County in the 2nd Region semifinals.
This year’s edition of the Blazers will have their first preseason scrimmage November 23 at Louisville Moore. They will wrap up the preseason the following Tuesday in Blazer Gym against the Russellville Panthers.
UHA will appear in the Hopkins County Shootout on December 7. A week later the Blazers will play in the City of Hopkinsville Shootout.
During the holiday season, UHA will head north to play in the Bosse Winter Classic before Christmas and then the Henderson County Shootout between Christmas and New Year’s.
The Blazers begin 2025 at the Bowling Green Classic with a matchup against Glasgow on January 4th.
UHA’s bid for an All A Classic regional championship will begin the following week on January 7 as they go across town to take on Heritage Christian Academy in the quarterfinals of the All A Classic 2nd Region tournament.
Other games on the Blazer schedule include matchups against South Warren, Murray, Henderson County, McCracken County, Bowling Green, Paducah Tilghman, and Owensboro Catholic, and the always difficult run through the 8th District.
