Alice Smith is on the verge of breaking a big school record — but the Lyon County senior has already accomplished many big things both on and off the field.
Smith needs one goal during Tuesday’s Senior Night home match against Mayfield to become the Lady Lyons’ all-time leading goal scorer. That record would stay in the family, though. Alice is currently tied with older sister Rose, who scored 138 goals at Lyon from 2018-21.
Off the field, Alice Smith is an honor student with a 4.0 GPA.
Smith attended the Governor’s Scholars Program at Centre College over the summer with a focus on astronomy, which included building a telescope.
She is a Hugh O’Bryan National Youth Leadership Program graduate in addition to being County 4H President, Student Council President, Beta Club Historian, TSA Treasurer, Champions Board Member, TLC Board Member and Teen Court.
Her volunteer work includes swim instructor, bagging and collecting good for the food pantry and cleaning the county 5K trail.
She volunteers for Elementary Special Education Students Field Day, Elementary Book Fair and Elementary Fall Festival.

Smith is a Teenagers Against Tobacco Use program organizer and teacher. She helped to develop and acted in two public service announcement TV commercials to stop tobacco use and vaping.
She works concessions at basketball games, works the School Roar Store and has been a helper at Freshman Orientation, along with Sources of Strength and Tail of Trails Committee.
As a soccer player, Smith has been named All-5th District and All-2nd Region for three straight years and should add a fourth year to those honors this season.
