Tuesday served as an outdoor classroom for University Heights Academy freshman Campbell Lindsey.
Making her first trip to the KHSAA State First Round, she shot a 32-over par 103 to tie for 71st place and saw her season come to an end.
Lindsey’s card had four pars and five bogeys but a few too many crooked numbers for her liking.
Her appearance at the Hopkinsville Golf and Country Club marked her first trip to the state first round after a 15th-place finish last week at region. It also capped a season that saw her move into UHA’s No. 2 scoring position behind her older sister Conlee and served as a season-long experience.
But afterward, Lindsey realized there is still work to do if she wants to become the third sister to advance to the championship round of the state tournament. She is expected to compete for the team’s top spot next year.
