
Anyone who arrived at Butler Stadium a few minutes late on Monday missed all the scoring.
Caldwell County’s girls scored two goals in the first 4 minutes of the contest and held on to defeat visiting Ohio County 2-1.
The Lady Tigers evened their season record at 7-7 with two matches left in the regular season. They also picked up their first win ever over the Lady Eagles in four attempts.’
Addie Middleton put Caldwell up 1-0 in the 1st minute of play.
Jayda Miller scored off a corner kick in the 4th minute to stake the home team to a 2-0 lead.
Ohio (2-10-1) made it a one-goal game in the 5th minute on a shot from about 25 yards out by Payton Woods that ducked inside the far post.
Caldwell dictated play for much of the night, outshooting Ohio 23-3. But those early goals were the only shots to find the nets.
The Lady Tigers will be right back in action Tuesday with a trip to Fort Campbell as part of a girls and boys doubleheader.
Caldwell’s girls will finish the regular season with a home match against Todd County Central on Thursday.
