Macy Cotton hit the course for Tuesday’s KHSAA State First Round at the Hopkinsville Golf and Country Club and unfortunately for the Hopkins County Central sophomore, the course hit back.
Cotton could never find her rhythm to piece together consecutive good holes and saw her season come to an end with a score of 116, resulting in a 76th-place finish.
She had one par on each side of the course but could never get her short game on track.
It was still a solid season for Cotton, who just missed qualifying for the Class 2A State Tournament earlier this season and advanced to the KHSAA State First Round for the first time.
