Alice Smith entered Tuesday’s match with Mayfield tied for Lyon County’s career-scoring lead with her older sister Rose. Alice delivered the historic goal with 18:57 left in the first half from a through ball off the foot of Anna White.
Alice finished the game with three goals, giving her 141 for her career. She passed Trigg County’s Lauren Frazier for second in Fifth District scoring history. With at least two games left, she has a chance to pass Trigg’s Lania Hite, who tops the district with 145 career goals.
