Crew members could not have been nicer or more helpful on our Sunset Sail.
Sometimes the best vacation experiences are not the ones you were expecting and that is what happened for us in St. Augustine.
We’ve been coming here for seven years now and know the restaurants we like best along with the places we enjoy visiting. However, a live music sunset sail with Fury Water Adventures was not something we had planned when we arrived.
We actually took a sunset cruise with Fury in Key West a few years ago and once I found out Fury had now been offering both sunset and dolphin cruises in St. Augustine for over a month now, we were in. That was before I even knew the Atlantic Fury, a 65-foot sailing catamaran, came from Key West to be used for the tours that leave from Beaches Marina in Vilano.
The dolphin watch goes earlier in the afternoon and the sunset sail leaves at 5:15 p.m. There are other sunset cruises here but they are 90 minutes long. Fury offers a two-hour tour with terrific views from every spot on the deck and the music was both soothing and fun.
The sunset sail includes complimentary soft drinks, beer, wine, champagne, margaritas — I kind of like them — and light snacks.
We had a diverse group on board ranging in age from probably 2 years old to 75 or so. We had a female birthday party group, a family group of sisters/brother along with kids, another family group along with couples of various ages.
The crew was magnificent — the sail was so, so smooth — making sure all our needs were taken care of and any questions we had were answered.
It was an added bonus that we did see some dolphins along with gorgeous scenery along the coast. But the sunset was the real winner.
One crew member told me before we sailed it was going to be spectacular and it was. I don’t know about you, but there is just something about a sunset when you are on the ocean that makes it even more spectacular.
The only downside is that there is limited parking near the departure point but you are notified often and encouraged to arrive early to make sure you have ample time to be on board 15 minutes before departure time.

LV you’ve turned into a low country expert. Sunset cruise from Amelia Island pretty cool as well.
I need to remember that Paul
We did the sunset cruise from Key West 2 and a half years ago. It was great!
Going back in 2 weeks while the Cats are on the road.
Very jealous. Love Key West
