
Caldwell County extended a lengthy winning streak against Hopkinsville with a straight-set triumph Thursday night at the CAB gym in Princeton.
Caldwell’s girls prevailed 25-15, 25-20, 25-18 for their 27th straight win over Hopkinsville.
Hoptown’s last win over Caldwell was over 20 years ago, Sept. 21, 2004.
At one point, Hopkinsville led the all-time series 11-1. However, Caldwell’s current streak has given it a 28-11 advantage.
Caldwell is now 13-7 this season while Hoptown is 2-20.
Brylee Butts had 16 kills, a block and two digs for Caldwell while Rylee Thompson totaled nine kills, eight digs and an ace.
Kylee White recorded 33 assists along with a kill, three aces and two digs. Benashka Thomas had six kills and three digs.
Mycah Riddle finished with 12 digs, two aces and an assist. Medeline Thomas had two kills and four digs.
Morgan Aikins had nine kills and an ace while Anna Giltz had eight digs and an ace.
Maddie Cooper delivered five aces, two digs and an assist. Chevy McGowan had a kill and a dig.
For Hopkinsville, Madysen Taggart had nine kills, three blocks and five digs while Lainey Stewart recorded two kills and seven digs.
Danaja Wheeler had eight digs and an ace. Kyleigh Weber had seven digs, four assists and an ace. Kaley Bangart recorded six digs.
Alayna King had seven assists, an ace and a dig. Saralynn Major had four digs. Maliah Miller added two blocks.
Caldwell’s girls will be off until next Thursday when they host Webster County.
Hopkinsville will play at Fort Campbell on Tuesday.
