Coming off a tough one-goal loss to Greenwood earlier in the week, the Todd County Central Rebels had the Trigg County Wildcats coming to town Thursday night. The match was the regular season finale for both teams.

After the match, neither team is headed into the district tournament coming off a win or coming off a loss, as the Rebels and the Wildcats battled their way to a 1-1 draw.

The Rebels had some chances to take control of this one early but could not get the ball past the Trigg County keeper. Todd Central had four shots deflect off the post in the first half.

Todd County Central broke the ice at about the 20 minute mark as Carlos Trujillo won a ball right in front of the keeper and slipped it across to Tanner Henderson who put it in from point-blank range to give the Rebels a 1-0 lead and that would be the lead they took into the break.

Trigg County evened things up when they caught the Rebels on a long run-out. Their first attempt was deflected by the Todd Central keeper. The Wildcats’ second attempt hit the post, but the third found the net to even things up with about 15 minutes left. James Garnett got the score with the assist going to Corben Woodall

Down the final 15 minutes, it was back and forth, with each team having their opportunities and each team having shots hit the post.

Todd County Central finishes out the regular season at 12-4-2. The Rebels will take on Russellville Tuesday night in the semifinals of the 13th District tournament in Elkton.

Trigg County ends the regular season at 5-8-5. The Wildcats will host Lyon County in the 5th District championship Monday night at the Trigg County Recreation Complex.
