The Fort Campbell Lady Falcons put an end to a five-match losing streak with a straigh set win over the Hopkinsville Lady Tigers Tuesday night. The win was the second this season for the Lady Falcons against the Lady Tigers.
Fort Campbell came out ready to go in the opening set and won 25-12 to go up one set to none.
The Hopkinsville Lady Tigers pushed the Lady Falcons to the edge in the second set. Fort Campbell found a way to push through and take a 26-24 win and go up two sets to none.
The Lady Falcons then settled in and closed out the sweep with a 25-17 win in the third set.
D’lyla Melton had a big night on the attack for Fort Campbell, finishing with nine kills. Emma Haynes added five.
Amanda Kalili-Liusa was there to set things up for the rest of the team with a total of 20 assists for the night. Olivia Voelkel led the team in digs with five.
For the Lady Tigers, Brooke Stewart led the attack with five kills. Madysen Taggart and Kyleigh Weber had four each.
Alayna King helped out the Hopkinsville cause with seven assists.
The loss drops Hopkinsville to 2-21 on the season. The Lady Tigers host McLean County Thursday night.
Fort Campbell improves to 6-10 and closes out the regular season next Tuesday night when they host Trigg County.
