
The Hopkinsville Lady Tigers will be glad to do a reset and get ready for the start of the postseason on Monday. The Lady Tigers finished the volleyball regular season with a straight-set loss at home to Webster County on Senior Night.
It was the second time this season that the Lady Trojans swept the Lady Tigers.
Thursday night, Webster County used a pair of runs in the opening set to take a 25-14 win and go up one set to none. Webster County used a 7-0 run to turn a 3-2 deficit into a 9-3 lead. Later in the set, it was a 6-0 run that extended a 14-12 lead out to 20-12.
The second set was close throughout with six ties and three lead changes. Webster County was able to close it out late and take a 25-22 win to go up two sets to none.
Runs were again the story for Webster County in the third set. The Lady Trojans had spurts of 6-0 and 8-0 as they pulled away to take a 25-14 win and close out the match three sets to none.
The Lady Trojans got big nights from Chloe Soukup, Brooke Burton, and Raynei Roy.
For Hopkinsville, Madysen Taggart continued to show why she is among the best young players coming up in the 2nd Region. The Lady Tigers also got some big moments from Saralynn Major.
Hopkinsville finishes the regular season at 2-25. The Lady Tigers will open district tournament play Monday evening when they take on Fort Campbell at University Heights Academy at 5:30.
