
Dawson Springs closed the cross country regular season with a first-place finish at Saturday’s Graves Eagle Classic in Mayfield.
Easton Bourland set a school record with a time of 16:35 over the 3.1-mile course to win the race by one second ahead of Union County’s Tristan Coy.
Bourland had set the previous school record two weeks ago at Daviess County.
Deacon Dever joined Bourland in the top 5 with a fifth-place finish in 17:02, breaking his personal best time by 55 seconds.
Sean Stallins was 12th in a time of 17:52 followed by Montgomery Johnston, who was 18th in 18:10.
Rex Blue was next across the finish line in 23rd place at 18:26.
Preston Drennan was 37th in 19:13, followed by Riley Buntin in 97th place (21:48) and Colton Clark in 124th place (26:03).
The Panthers cruised to the team title with 50 points – 30 fewer than second-place Paducah Tilghman.
Dawson Springs will look to defend its region title on Saturday at the Class 1A Region 1 Meet next Saturday at Marshall County High School.
