
The Caldwell County volleyball team wrapped up the regular season with a trio of matches at Todd County Central’s Pink Out on Saturday, topping Owensboro Catholic and Graves County before falling to the host Lady Rebels.
The Lady Tigers dropped the opening set 25-18 against Graves County but evened the match with a 25-16 win in the second and closed it out with a 15-13 decision in the third.
Benashka Thomas and Brylee Butts combined for 14 kills, and Butts added eight digs. Rylee Thompson finished with 13 digs, Mycah Riddle had 11, and Chevy McGowan posted 10. Kylee White powered the Lady Tiger offense with 19 assists.
White stuffed the stat sheet again in the win over Owensboro Catholic, finishing with 18 assists and eight digs. The Lady Tigers took the first set 25-21 but dropped the second 25-15 before scratching out a 16-14 victory in the third. Thompson led the way with eight kills, followed by Thomas with seven.
A slow start doomed Caldwell in the finale, with a 25-15 loss in the opening set followed by a four-point defeat in the second. White contributed ten assists, Anna Glitz had nine digs, and Thompson finished with eight.
The top-seeded Lady Tigers await the Madisonville-North Hopkins and Hopkins County Central winner in the 13th-District championship on Tuesday. Caldwell won both regular-season meetings with the Lady Storm and split with the Lady Maroons.
