Pairings Set for 2nd Region Volleyball Tournament

The pairings are now set for the 2nd Region volleyball tournament which will get underway Monday evening. This year’s tournament is being played at Hopkinsville High School and appears to be one of the most wide-open tournaments in a long time.

The opening match Monday evening at 5:30 will have 6th District champion Union County (14-7) taking on 7th District runner-up Madisonville-North Hopkins (9-23). The two teams did not meet during the regular season.

Monday night’s second quarterfinal, at approximately 7pm, will have 5th District champion Crittenden County (19-4) taking on 8th District runner-up Christian County (12-18). The Lady Rockets won both regular season matchups 3-1 and 3-0.

Play continues Tuesday night at Hopkinsville High. The first match Tuesday at 5:30pm will have 7th District champion Caldwell County (18-9) going up against 6th District runner-up Henderson County (15-16). The two teams did not meet during the regular season.

The final quarterfinal round match Tuesday evening will have 8th District champ Heritage Christian (21-5) going up against 5th District runner-up Livingston Central (5-17). The two teams met twice during the regular season with the Lady Warriors winning both 3-0.

Semifinal action will be Wednesday night at 5:30 and 7:30.

The championship match is set for Thursday evening at 6:00.

Tickets for the tournament will be $10 and will be available through GoFan and credit card scanners will be available at the gate.
