
Fort Campbell used a string grouping of runners to finish in fourth place at the Class 1A Region 1 cross country meet on Saturday and qualify for state.
Just 1:38 separated the Falcons’ first five runners, the second smallest margin of the nine teams in the race.
Junior Seth Puraty led the Falcons with an eighth-place finish in 18:31 over the 3.1-mile course at Marshall County High School.
Ryker Kramer was 24 seconds behind Puraty in 14th place, and Jack Belzer was 18th in 19:30.
Layne Barbee was 25th in 19:57 and Jayden Perry was 27th in 20:10.
The Falcons got a 41st-place finish from Noah Flick at 22:41, and John Tyler Ford was 50th at 23:10.
Easton Bourland of Dawson Springs won the race at 17:20.
As a team, Fort Campbell was fourth with 92 points and will run at the Class 1A State Cross Country Meet next Saturday at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington.
