Dakota Evans To Make Fourth State Meet Appearance (w/PHOTOS)

Dakota Evans recorded a third straight top-10 finish at the region cross country meet and will be making his fourth state meet appearance.

The Madisonville-North Hopkins junior finished in seventh place at Saturday’s Class 3A Region Cross Country Meet, run at Marshall County High School.

He ran the course in a time of 17:05.

Evans will compete in the Class 3A State Meet Saturday at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington.

Also running at Saturday’s region meet was eighth grader Kaleb Dunkley, who finished in 48^th place in a time of 19:31 – a new personal best.

Jude Gamblin was 59^th in 20:33, followed by Trevor Fox in 62^nd place (21:11 – personal best), Braiden Thompson in 66^th place (22:12 – personal best), Leo Traverzo in 68^th place (22:41 – personal best), and Landon Blackburn in 69^th place (25:46 – personal best).

As a team, the Maroons finished in 10^th place with 242 points.
