In her final season of cross country, Taylor Morris will have one more race to run.

The Christian County High School senior finished in 11th place at the Class 3A Region 1 Meet on Saturday and qualified for the state meet for a second straight year.

Morris covered the 3.1-mile course at Marshall County High School in 21:11. It was 16 seconds off her personal best time established last week at Graves County and one minute and 16 seconds faster than her time on the same course last year.

She will make her final run at the Class 3A State Meet this Saturday at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington where she finished 95th last year.

Morris is the first Christian County girls runner since Kayla Welch in 2001-02 to make consecutive appearances at the state meet representing the Lady Colonels.

Eighth-grader Ellie Brown ran a personal best time for Christian County on Saturday at 23:04, good for a 26th-place finish.

Seventh grader Lilly Collins finished in 55th place with a time of 29:52.
