The Union County girls’ cross country team finished in fourth place at Saturday’s Class 2A Region 1 cross country meet and will be making a trip to state this weekend.
Union County scored 93 points to finish in fourth place with four runners finishing in the top 20.
Eighth grader Isabella Graham was the first Bravette across the finish line in 11th place with a time of 23:06. Audrey Burgess finished in 15th place in 24:31 and Riley Nobles was 19th with a time of 25:58, equaling the time of teammate Kinslee Gray who was 20th.
Lilliana Owen was 32nd for Union County.
Calloway County’s Vayla Carlisle won the race in 19:37 helping the Lady Lakers to the region championship.
Union County will compete in the Class 2A State Meet Saturday at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington.
