Union County’s Coy Wins Region Cross Country Title (w/PHOTOS)

Tristan Coy pulled away over the final mile to win the Class 2A Region 1 cross country championship on Saturday. He covered the 3.1-mile course at Marshall County High School in 16:42, which was 10 seconds ahead of second-place Charlie Wolfram of Paducah Tilghman.

Joining Coy in the top five was freshman Thomas Davis, who crossed the line in 17:28 seconds for fifth place. Both Coy and Davis will advance to Saturday’s Class 2A State Cross Country meet at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington.

Kameron Davis came in 26th place with a time of 19:13 seconds, followed by Landon Davis in 43rd place at 22:39. Connor Morgan was 44th in 23:02 and Asher Vinson came in 46th place in 25:39.

As a team, Union County finished in sixth place with 109 points, five points behind fifth-place Trigg County. Paducah Tilghman won the team title with 57 points.
