While he has been gone for more than three years now, the memory of former Heritage Christian Academy volleyball coach Eldridge Rogers was present in Tiger Gym at Hopkinsville High School Thursday night as the Lady Warriors won the 2nd Region volleyball championship.
Rogers was instrumental in building a foundation for the program during his tenure as head coach from 2005 to 2019. He led the Lady Warriors to an unbeaten season and a KCAA state title in 2011 and he had been involved with many of the current players when they were learning the sport.
His daughter Laura Rogers Winslow was in Tiger Gym for the historic night and exchanged some very emotional moments with the team. She spoke with YSE about the championship and what it would have meant to Coach Eldridge.
