
Henderson County freshman Callie Burnett finished in 111th place at the Class 3A State Cross Country Meet in Lexington on Saturday.
Burnett covered the 3.1-mile course at the Kentucky Horse Park in a time of 21:34. Her time was 19 seconds faster than last year’s state run that saw her finish in 119th place and nearly a minute faster than her first state meet as a seventh grader.
Woodford County’s Addison Moore won the Class 3A Meet with a time of 18:06.
Meanwhile, Ian Hancock was the lone Colonel runner in the boys’ race and finished in 204th place with a time of 18:59 over the 3.1-mile course at the Kentucky Horse Park.
It was the second state meet for the junior, who finished in 201st last year but with a slower time of 19:05.
Cooper’s Paul Van Laningham won the race with a time of 15:19.
