David Cavanaugh finished his Trigg County High School cross country career with a pair of top 50 finishes at the state meet.
The Wildcat senior finished in 50th place at Saturday’s Class 2A State Meet at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington.
Cavanaugh completed the 3.1-mile course at the Kentucky Horse Park in 18:10.
Cavanaugh was 49th as a sophomore in 18:05 but missed the second half of last season with an injury.
Brody Renfroe, who played for the football team on Friday night before the race, came in 77th place in 18:53, just 19 seconds off his personal best time set two weeks ago.
The state meet run was the second for Renfroe, who was 125th last year in 19:56.
