Making his fourth appearance at the state cross country meet, Madisonville-North Hopkins junior Dakota Evans turned in a 59th-place finish.
Evans ran the 3.1-mile course at the Kentucky Horse Park in 17:11. His three fastest times were in his final three meets with a grouping of 16 seconds.
Evans, the lone Maroon to run at state on Saturday, just missed a third straight top-50 finish.
